Boston Book Festival 2020

We look forward to the Boston Book Festival 2020’s full roster of engaging programs for youth and adults, online from October 5–25!

The Boston Book Festival celebrates the power of words to stimulate, agitate, unite, delight, and inspire by holding year-round events culminating in this annual, free festival that promotes a culture of reading and ideas and enhances the vibrancy of our city.

In 2017, BBF launched its Shelf Help partnership program, a community-driven, kid-focused initiative aimed to expand a love of reading in children and young adults. To this end, the BBF collaborated with Wondermore to develop a competitive annual grant program for two Boston-area school libraries to receive brand-new, high-quality, and culturally relevant books to fill school libraries, as well as a memorable, Wondermore-sponsored, school visit by a celebrated children’s or YA author or illustrator.

The BBF Shelf Help program is an ideal complement to the work Wondermore does in schools. Both our organizations work towards increasing exposure and access to books for children, and both are Boston-based organizations reaching out into our local communities. Partnering with BBF and Shelf Help exposes Wondermore to new authors and illustrators, extends the opportunity to work with new schools, and gives us the chance to be a part of a vibrant annual event on the Boston calendar
